Set Dancing Notes

The notes are written to help everyone, from complete beginners to experienced dancers and teachers. They contain both detailed instructions on all parts of every figure and also a guide to the structure of each figure for those who need only a quick reminder.

All the dances have been carefully researched and are based on the author's personal experience of dancing in Ireland. Where different versions of a dance are popularly found, the one danced by the people of the area from which the dance originates is the version described in these notes wherever possible.
